The goal of our Fork-Lift Qualified Operator Training class is to train your employees on the following different Classes of Powered Industrial Trucks: 1, 3, 4, 5 & 7.

This class is approved for 6 credit hours of Continuing Education credits with Oregon Construction Contractor Board

Requirements:

  • Live Class – Student must have means of transportation to classroom facility (facility is ADA compliant).
  • Student must bring valid, government issued, photo ID
  • Course instructor will be available in person between 8:30am and 11:30am PST on the day of class.

Students who successfully complete Fork-Lift Qualified Operator Training will become certified on the following Classes of Powered Industrial Trucks: 1, 3, 4, 5 & 7.

Your employees will be trained on the following Classes of Powered Industrial Trucks: 1, 3, 4, 5 & 7. We will provide classroom training for these types of lifts and a practical evaluation tool to be used at your convenience.

Depending on the class location we may bring equipment in to conduct the class. If equipment is not available practical evaluations are to be conducted at the employee’s place of business and sent back to American Contractors Organization, Shield of Armor, and Oregon OSHA for record.

  • Lift truck fundamentals
  • The principles of balance, stability, and capacity
  • The importance of a pre-operational inspection
  • The procedures for completing both a visual and operational inspection
  • How to safely enter, exit, and operate lift-trucks
  • How to operate lift trucks around pedestrians
  • Guidelines for parking a lift-truck
  • Safe methods for picking up, moving, and deploying loads
  • Procedures for surviving incidents
  • Safe procedures for fueling gasoline and diesel-powered lift trucks
  • Safe procedures for replacing liquid petroleum tanks
  • The proper methods for changing, charging, and adding water to industrial batteries
  • And more

Note: Companies must ensure that all employees operating these types of lifts are qualified. This certification is good for 3 years.
